Cellmates on the Run

WE RUN TO ADVANCE DIABETES RESEARCH: As individuals we have a presence, but together as team we are a force.

Team Cellmates is the official running team of the Chicago Diabetes Project.  We will help you train to reach your running goals, whether it’s a 5K, Half-Marathon or Marathon.  We offer full fundraising support, seminars and access to coaches to help you “Make Saving Lives Part Of Your Training”.  Together, every step brings us closer to a cure for Type 1 Diabetes.

Why CELLMATES ON THE RUN?

Each year, more than 15,000 children and 15,000 adults - approximately 80 people per day - are diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in the U.S and the rate of type 1 diabetes incidence among children under the age of 14 is estimated to increase by 3% annually worldwide.  Living with T1D is a constant challenge. Everyday type 1 diabetics must carefully balance their insulin doses and monitor their blood sugar by pricking their fingers for blood six, or more, times a day. Imagine having to wake up numerous times a night to check your small child’s blood sugar…it’s not pleasant…and their life depends on you.  We want to end this for all T1D’s and their families who struggle each day with this terrible disease.  To do this, we need you, we can not do it alone.  You’ll find the motivation to get you through every mile by training with others, pushing you to keep going, helping us toward a cure.  100% of the money you raise will go directly to where it is needed - to life saving research.
