Brian is a PhD student who started working with the Islet transplantation team in 2007. He has extensive experience in beta-cell proliferation and regeneration. Using a genetic engineering approach Brian is working towards increasing the number of beta-cells available for transplant. He is expecting to complete his PhD thesis in the spring of 2012. Brian is originally from Chicago where he completed his Bachelor’s degree in Biology at Loyola University Chicago.
