Racing to find a cure

Finding a cure for diabetes is like running a marathon, says Dr. José Oberholzer, UIC College of Medicine transplant surgeon and diabetes researcher. He is perfecting a transplant procedure that frees patients from their dependence on insulin. He’s also run 17 marathons to raise money for a cure and will be running with Team Cellmates on the Run at this year’s Bank of America Chicago Marathon and TCS New York City Marathon.

Join the team and we’ll train you for your next 26.2 while you support life-saving diabetes research.
