“The CDP is a global network of scientists, physicians, engineers, physicists, chemists, biologists, molecular biologists and researchers who have come together with one common goal – see what putting our heads together can accomplish toward the elusive goal of curing diabetes. ”

Merigeng Qi, M.D., PhD., Lead Scientist, University of Illinois at Chicago
The Chicago Diabetes Project: A Global Effort to Cure Diabetes.
As the first scientific collaboration of its kind, the project links leading scientists from the US, Canada, Switzerland, France, Israel, Norway, and Slovakia to improve upon islet cell transplantation, and accelerate research findings into standard patient care.
World-renowned experts are freely exchanging knowledge in an open, collaborative manner. The Chicago Diabetes Project’s unique blend of physicians, chemists, physicists, engineers, and molecular biologists are tackling numerous aspects of the disease simultaneously. This is a very different model than one scientist in one institution laboring on one piece of the problem alone.
They share a single goal…to find a cure for diabetes as fast as possible.
Your contribution will help doctors and scientists all over the world to bring an end to diabetes of all types. Together we can brighten the lives of people across the globe.
